Our expedition leader sees a solid weather window starting on the 21st and improving for a few days thereafter. We are leaving early on the morning of the 18th with a plan to summit on the 22nd.
Today is the 17th and many of us are packing up our tents to facilitate an efficient exit once we're back from the summit push. I took a little time for one more workout which definitely puts me over 10,000 push-ups for those still counting.
Our spirits are high and we are all ready to climb! Hopefully our bodies, the mountain and the weather will all cooperate to allow each of us to reach the summit and return safely.
Namaste
Bucky, really good news. We hope all goes as planned. Take a picture for us at the summit. Stay safe and Godspeed. N & A.
ReplyDeleteHi, David. Don't think I've been ignoring you. I think of you constantly and wonder what you are doing. When I say my prayers you are #1 on that list. Keep up the good work and conquer that huge mountain! The best to you and your team. Anne
ReplyDeleteHello David, this is Becky, Kriss helps in my classroom. Although you probably wish she was with you, I am so glad to have her back! She is the best and the kids love her. The kindergartners would like to send you some advice as you head to the Summit! "Get very very bundled up!" "Wear you parka." Many of them said "Be Careful and don't get hurt." Some of them added, "Don't get eaten by a snow leopard." (We did have a conversation about this! No snow leopards on Mt. Everest.) "If there are any animals stay away!" Several others said, "Don't fall down, don't get stuck in a rock, don't trip, don't fall down and get eaten, and be safe from the snow." "It's slippery so be careful!" "Watch out for boulders!" Many of them said very excitedly, "Don't get dead!!!" Others would like to wish you luck. "Great luck!" "I hope you won't get very hurt." Lastly, some suggested, "Climb the highest mountain." (You've got that one covered!) "Don't jump off the highest mountain." "Look out for giant snowballs!" and "You're cool!" Take care of yourself and know the Colorow Kindergarten is pulling for you!
